What OpnForm does
OpnForm is a no-code form builder for the everyday forms most organizations need: contact and quote requests, registrations, applications, order forms and simple feedback. It does not limit the number of forms or submissions. Its inputs cover text, dates, URLs, file uploads and the other usual field types, with conditional form logic and validation rules. Computed variables use spreadsheet-style formulas to calculate totals or scores, URL parameters can pre-fill fields, and forms can take payments through a connected Stripe account. A PDF template editor maps fields onto a document so each submission can produce a PDF.
Forms can be shared by link or embedded, and a JavaScript SDK lets a host page control an embedded form. A captcha guards against spam, and email notifications report new submissions.
Integrations and API
The open source code includes integrations for email, Slack, Discord, Telegram and Google Sheets, plus generic webhooks and connectors for Zapier, Make, n8n, Activepieces, Pabbly and Albato. Webhooks are signed so the receiver can check they are genuine. A REST API with personal access tokens manages workspaces, forms and submissions and exports submissions to CSV. OpnForm also runs an MCP server, so an AI assistant can draft forms and, after signing in, search submissions and statistics. The cloud’s HubSpot, Salesforce and Airtable integrations are listed only on paid plans.
Self-hosting OpnForm
A setup script in the repository writes the configuration and starts a Docker Compose stack: the Laravel API with a queue worker and scheduler, the Nuxt front end, PostgreSQL 16, Redis 7 and an nginx proxy. File uploads can use S3 storage. The docs give no hardware figures. Backups, monitoring, upgrades and TLS certificates are your responsibility.
The important limit is users. The self-hosted license page says a free instance allows 2 users in total, however they are added. Going beyond that, or adding SAML or LDAP sign-in, multiple workspaces with team roles, white-label branding, per-workspace SMTP, audit logs, external storage options or custom code, needs a paid Enterprise license. The repository’s Enterprise directory is under a proprietary license; the rest is AGPL-3.0 or later.
Hosted version
OpnForm’s cloud has a free plan with unlimited forms and submissions, one workspace, logic, computed fields, a 10 MB upload quota, API access and basic integrations. Paid plans add branding removal, custom domains, larger uploads, partial submissions, an analytics dashboard, custom CSS and fonts, more workspaces and the CRM integrations. The pricing page does not say where the data is hosted.
Limitations
The 2-user cap makes the free self-hosted edition a fit for individuals and very small teams only. OpnForm is a form builder rather than a research survey tool, so it lacks the participant panels and statistics exports of LimeSurvey and the in-app targeting of Formbricks. Organizations with data-location requirements will need to ask about cloud hosting or run it themselves.
Who it suits
OpnForm suits small businesses, agencies and individuals who want a clean Google Forms or Typeform replacement for lead, booking and order forms, with payments and plenty of ready-made notification and automation integrations, either free in the cloud or on a small self-hosted server.
License details
AGPL-3.0-or-later. Code in api/app/Enterprise is proprietary. Free self-hosted instances are limited to 2 users; more users, SAML/LDAP SSO, team roles, multiple workspaces, white-labeling and audit logs need an Enterprise license.
